The S2R program aims to fund research initiatives that foster collaboration and synergies in fields where UPJV laboratories have expertise and can benefit from networking.
The University aims to encourage researchers to apply for national or international funding programs by providing financial support to project leaders, with the goal of strengthening projects that could be submitted to calls for proposals at the national, European, or international level (ANR, ADEME, DGA, Horizon Europe, Interreg, RHU, France 2030, etc.).
This program therefore funds activities aimed at assisting with the preparation of research project proposals, rather than funding the research projects themselves. Thus, depending on the discipline, preparation may include, or even combine, activities such as project development and/or experiments aimed at obtaining initial results and/or the organization of scientific workshops required to meet the criteria of national or international calls for proposals, thereby creating the necessary leverage effect.
Note: In this form, the term “project” refers to the project that will be submitted in response to a national or international call for proposals.
Eligibility criteria :
The beneficiary must be a PU, PU-PH, MCU, MCU-PH, IR, or a researcher at an EPST or EPIC
The beneficiary must be a statutory member of a research unit at UPJV
The beneficiary must conduct their research at UPJV
The beneficiary must submit a project proposal in response to national, European, or international calls for proposals whose subject matter aligns with that of the research unit
The beneficiary must have previously identified the national or international call(s) for proposals to which they wish to apply and specify the timeline as much as possible
Applications in which the recipient plans to serve as the principal investigator will be given priority over those in which the recipient will serve as a partner. In the context of international projects, responsibility for an experimental work package will be assigned
Grant :
The grant awarded will be up to €4,000 for specific actions.
Eligibles actions :
Contribution toward the stipend for an internship, which must be paid in accordance with current regulations
Operating budget to support the finalization of the project proposal (conducting experiments to obtain initial results, travel expenses, consumables, external services, translation or editing of the proposal to be submitted, etc.)
Timeline :
Application deadline: June 18, 2026 – 4:00 p.m.
Eligible expenses: 2026 and 2027
Applications will be reviewed by the Research Committee
Items :
Applicants must provide the following information in the online form:
A scientific description of the project to be submitted in response to a national or international call for proposals
Existing experimental results
A list of project partners
Previous submissions of the project in response to national or international calls for proposals
The targeted program
CPER or PIA projects related to the themes within which the project falls
The actions planned using the S2R grant and their added value for the project
The estimated budget for these actions
A list of project submissions made by the beneficiary over the past two years
The applicant must provide the detailed budget requested under the S2R as an attachment. A template is available in the attachment tab.
Note: The classification of the application under CPER or PIA themes is requested for informational purposes only, with the aim of identifying any potential contributions that UPJV could make within the framework of these projects. Since not all applications are intended to align with these projects due to their themes, this item does not constitute an eligibility criterion.
Beneficiary commitment :
Beneficiaries of this program agree to submit a project proposal in response to a call for proposals from a national, European, or international program, either during or upon completion of the support provided by the UPJV (year N or N+1).
Proof of submission must be sent to the Research Department on the date of submission.
Important notes:
The proposal must be submitted by the recipient to the Research Department
For a project that will be primarily developed within our institution, UPJV must be listed as the institutional coordinator of the project
For follow-up to a project that has already been selected and is currently underway, a plan for scaling up must be specified (expansion of the network, a national project becoming a European one, etc.)
The beneficiary must specify whether the project is subject to “reclassification,” i.e., whether the project has already been submitted in response to a previous call for proposals
Hubert Curien (PHC) project proposals are not eligible under this call for proposals
If the project is selected, the beneficiary may submit, within the framework of the REH, a request for credit hours or teaching relief to coordinate the project. Within the framework of an ANR project, it is encouraged to include the buyback of hours for researchers to the extent possible
Proposals originating from the same research unit must be ranked
